The most ambitious project of the Orchestra&#8217;s 2019-2020 Season, the Gala de la terre, was scheduled for today, April 22, and has unfortunately been cancelled. <!--more-->However, thanks to the initiative of philanthropist\u00a0<strong>Bita Cattelan<\/strong>\u00a0and the generous donations of many corporate and private patrons, the Orchestre de l\u2019Agora is proud to announce that it will donate\u00a0<strong>$138,000<\/strong>\u00a0to the three environmental beneficiary organizations of Gala de la terre:\u00a0<strong>Jour de la terre<\/strong>, the\u00a0<strong>Sierra Club Canada Foundation<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0<strong>Nature Conservancy of Canada<\/strong>.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The funds raised by these three organizations will support the implementation of important projects to protect the fragile ecosystem of the St-Lawrence Gulf and Estuary. The projects are described in these videos:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/orchestreagora.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=51e14115d91cf1db62ac4f177&amp;id=5a717326c0&amp;e=1d94255f09\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Sierra Club Canada Foundation<\/u><\/a>\u00a0\/\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/orchestreagora.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=51e14115d91cf1db62ac4f177&amp;id=3311d8a67c&amp;e=1d94255f09\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Jour de la terre<\/u><\/a><u>\u00a0\/\u00a0<u><a href=\"https:\/\/orchestreagora.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=51e14115d91cf1db62ac4f177&amp;id=b4da8c1af9&amp;e=1d94255f09\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nature Conservancy of Canada<\/a><\/u>.<\/u><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The benefit concert of Gala de la terre was to take place with guest soloists Andrew Wan, Yukari Cousineau and Rose Naggar-Tremblay. This concert was part of a global ecological &amp; cultural campaign, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/orchestreagora.us7.list-manage.com\/track\/click?u=51e14115d91cf1db62ac4f177&amp;id=4172656c5d&amp;e=1d94255f09\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><u>Beethoven Pastoral Project<\/u><\/a>, and was also supposed to be broadcasted live on ICI Musique 100.7 FM.
