Concert workshops in long-term care facilities with La SAMS
Orchestre de l’Agora partners with La SAMS (Société pour les arts en milieu de santé) to offer monthly concert-workshops for residents in CHSLDs (long-term care facilities). Grounded in listening, dialogue, and care, these musical encounters bring comfort and a sense of calm to people in vulnerable situations.
Active across Québec, La SAMS is an organization that promotes the benefits of music in healthcare settings through performances by professional artists. Through its interventions in CHSLDs, seniors’ residences, hospitals, and other facilities, La SAMS helps reduce isolation and supports physical and mental well-being. Its work is guided daily by values of accessibility, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Through this partnership, Orchestre de l’Agora contributes to an approach in which music becomes a true lever for well-being—strengthening social connection and offering a meaningful moment of relief for both residents and the staff who support them.
