Enfers des Lumières

A unique concert showcasing the fascinating French Baroque repertoire! Enfers des Lumières will present different arias by Lully, Rameau and Gluck, from operas inspired by Greek mythology. These sublime excerpts from the Baroque repertoire, which will be highlighted by the Stage Director François Racine, will reveal scenes taking place in hell, around the themes of love, despair and revenge.

Orchestre de l’Agora and ten soloists from Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal, under the direction of Nicolas Ellis, will take you on a journey into the explosive, dark and tragic worlds of mythical characters such as Orpheus, Dardanus, Armide or Iphigenia. The concert, presented in collaboration with Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal will be at the Salle Ludger-Duvernay of Monument-National.
