To kick off the Festival, Nicolas Ellis and his Orchestre de l’Agora will send us far into the stratosphere with Holst’s ThePlanets and Claude Vivier’s orchestral suite Orion, expertly assisted by a surprise guest who is no stranger to gazing at the stars!

Nicolas Ellis envisions a transfigured symphony that will take you on a journey through Schubert’s symphonic movements as well as his Lieder orchestrated by Berlioz, Webern, Reger, and Ian Cusson.

Fiddlers and Northern Folklore
The jig, the cotillion, and the country dance have enlivened the evenings of several generations of Quebecers. Alexis Chartrand, Nicolas Babineau, and the Orchestre de l’Agora revisit these traditional tunes in a program deeply infused with Nordic folklore.

Bolstered by huge community success at the Théâtre Paradoxe in February 2023, Ravel’s L’Enfant et les sortilèges, an opera for the whole family, now takes the stage at Théâtre Maisonneuve.
