Enfers des Lumières (broadcast)

A unique concert showcasing the fascinating French Baroque repertoire! Enfers des Lumières presents different arias by Lully, Rameau and Gluck, from operas inspired by Greek mythology. These sublime excerpts from the Baroque repertoire, which are highlighted by the Stage Director François Racine, reveal scenes taking place in hell, around the themes of love, despair and revenge.

Orchestre de l’Agora and ten soloists from Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal, under the direction of Nicolas Ellis, are taking you on a journey into the explosive, dark and tragic worlds of mythical characters such as Orpheus, Dardanus, Armide or Iphigenia. The concert was presented in March 2022, in collaboration with Atelier lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal at the Salle Ludger-Duvernay of Monument-National.
